New Westminster Homelessness Coalition joins forces with Don't Go Hungry Food Program
When you stop by any of the 4 sites of the Don't Go Hungry Food Program, you will see kind people who care about their community. One of these people is Betina Wheeler, of the New Westminster Homeless Coalition.
Wheeler has been a key leader in the development of the Don't Go Hungry program. Her years of experience in food security work have been invaluable in establishing a healthy food policy for the City of New Westminster and a food hub program (a.k.a. Don't Go Hungry) that responds to the needs of community members.
Wheeler's network with Community Voices has informed when and what is helpful to those with lived experience. Thanks to her, the larger questions and higher values are constantly in the minds of all program organizers.
